Baked Penne

Pasta is my favorite food!! It is simple to add vegetables to pasta without overcooking them and get children to consume them as well. This pasta dish takes about an hour total to make and costs under $25. Its an awesome last minute meal and could be an awesome meal prep!

Ingredients:
Penne Pasta
1 lb ground turkey
2 jars Tomato basil pasta sauce
1 bunch Spinach
1 1/2 cups Mozzerella
2 tablespoons Salt
2 tablespoons Pepper
1/2 tablespoon Basil (fresh or packaged seasoning)

Photos are numbered so just follow along…..

1. -Bring a large pot of hot water to a boil and insert 2.5 cups of penne pasta. Let noodles boil for 15 minutes or to the texture of your desire. While noodles are boiling rinse the ground turkey and begin to brown in a pan over heated olive oil and garlic. Add a tablespoon of salt and pepper and cook until tender on medium to low heat (about 25 minutes).

2. Once ground turkey is tender add spinach, a little more salt and pepper (1/2 tablespoon), and lastly a tablespoon of basil. Cook spinach until withered.

3. Once spinach is withered add the tomato basil sauce and cook until boiling lightly.

4. Once hot add your meat combination, pasta noodles, and about 1 1/2 cups of cheese to a large oven safe pan. Mix the noodles, meat combination, and cheese together until each pasta noodles has a sufficient amount of sauce, cheese, and meat.

5. Bake in the oven at 375 for 20 minutes covered in foil (may want to put a baking sheet under pasta to prevent spills) and voila!! You have made an easy delicious pasta dish!!
